Did you miss it? The fourth edition of America’s Premier Luxury Watch Show took place May 12-15, 2016.
The US luxury industry isn’t without its challenges! Despite the challenging economic environment, the fourth edition of the luxury watch show TimeCrafters managed to gather 3,646 guests – a respectable 30% of which were women.
The participation of partners such as Christie’s Auction House and the Opera Gallery made the show more attractive to a broader audience, which also included sophisticated art and culture enthusiasts.
The watchmakers on display this year were: A. Lange & Söhne, Alpina, Ateliers deMonaco, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Chopard, Frederique Constant, Hublot, HYT, Jaeger-LeCoultre, MCT Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, TAG Heuer, Tiffany & Co., Urwerk, Vacheron Constantin and Zenith.
Besides getting up close and personal with these great brands, the event also helped inform the American public about the world of Haute Horlogerie, thanks to interesting panels on topics like the “Online Subculture of Watch Geeks” and the “Watch Consumers of the Future?”
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie also held watchmaking workshops led by professionals, which instructed participants how to take apart and re-assemble every part of the UNITAS 6497-1 movement. Having done the same workshop myself, I can say they Fondation organizes a great workshop which really helps non-specialists get more intimate with the craft.
