Jaeger-LeCoultre BASEL 94
"Master Réveil» is the first wristwatch to feature a tuning-fork gong. Designed specifically for this model, it emits remarkable sound quality. The watch features a 20-jewel, 28,800 v.p.h. high-frequency selfwinding movement that provides a power reserve of 45 hours and has undergone 1,000 hours of testing without compromising its exceptional reliability. Equipped with a pawl device, its centre-positioned rotor can rotate bidirectionally to wind the movement. Located under the latter, the gong is made of a special type of steel and vibrates freely in tuning-fork fashion when its pin is struck by the hammer. The crown at 2 o’clock sets the alarm mechanism which can sound for a period of 20 seconds. It also serves to stop and to change the time setting by rotating the centre disc until its guide mark is positioned opposite the desired time. Its steel or 18K gold case is water-resistant to 30 m and carries a «1,000 Horns» seal.
