ince becoming a Rado global brand ambassador in 2023, Ji Chang-wook has been an inspirational figure for the brand. It was during a visit to Rado Headquarters in March 2024 that Ji Chang-wook learned about the subtleties of high-tech ceramic and that the idea of a special Ji Chang-wook version of the True Square Open Heart model came up.

In Korean culture, red is known for bringing good luck and protection. Then, on a special, more personal note, Ji Chang-wook told the brand that the ruby was also his birthstone, so that it would be delightful to add twelve bright-red rubies to the timepiece to mark the hours. They are a beautiful visual complement to the Open Heart design.

The timepiece reflects the man himself, bright and radiant, deeply harmonious and with just a hint of mystery, as his large fan-base would most surely agree. Rado has a long history of collaborating with creative individuals, to inspire a new design or a special reissue of a particular model, sometimes to underline an important anniversary or company milestone.
